The primary piece was generated by using the same pattern twice with a clean, finger picked 17 edo guitar sample which consisted of a few phrases strung together in an improvisation. The sample was sequenced by sector in two runs. Once with adding only reverb in cakewalk and again using guitar effect pedals (earthquaker afterneath and hologram infinite jets + tc electronics hall of fame reverb) in parallel – i.e. the left channel is one pedal and the right channel is the two pedal chain. I did manipulate the pedals thus creating a meta performance above the sector sequence and the guitar improvisation. Prior to the main piece I did experiment with the sample sample but a different sector preset and manipulated sector as well as the pedals in real time, leaving only the original guitar improvisation the same. The original guitar performance was captured on an iPad using Audio Share – an application by the same programmer.
