Lines Against Each Other is a study in using echo as a type of looper. By setting the delay time to a fairly long value and the number of echos high and balance almost equally the mix one can create a dynamic space of ever evolving loops. The technique requires re-injecting material you want to keep around and you simply let what you don’t want fade away. Of course, your mistakes echo as well 🙂 This performance used a 17 edo electric guitar to an Earthquaker Devices Afterneath to TC Electronics Mimiq to Strymon El Capistan. The only effect I changed was the mix level on the Afterneath to fade out the reverb-ish-ness without an abrupt cut off.
