Anticipation Nonlinear Fear Derivation (19 edo)

I often compose or improvise by using layers. In this composition I expose some of the layers for a few reasons. I often find percussion annoying after a while despite percussion’s popularity among some. Oddly enough I may remember, say a Beatles song, quite well, with all the parts playing in my mind, except for the drums. Odd. So I present the full on 5 layers.

All Layers

The percussion, even when interesting, can get in the way of subtleties in the other synth patches. Thus one more reason to get rid of them despite my initial enthusiasm. (It is easier to be enthusiastic when you are busy playing and not paying attention to them.) So here I present 4 layers.

Everything But Drums

Then, as is my habit, putting a piece I’m working with on repeat as I do other tasks I found I was really annoyed with everything but the french horns. Also, forcing myself to play the full gamut of 19 edo on a regular piano keyboard had the benefit of imposing patterns I don’t usually play in 19 and increasing my interest in that part. So here I present only the french horns, which were by any estimate not the best pairing with electronics. The midi was touched up a bit from the 5th or 6th take of the part.

French Horns Only

Here is the piece without french horns, because, internet.

Cypher 2 replaces the french horn

And double time because.

Faster, faster

And – feel free to make your own version – audio and midi.
