When God Comes Down From Heaven

Flood01

When God Comes Down From Heaven is a release from 2010 that was lost in the demise of a website music community I had hosted called Not Only Music. The music features bowed and ebowed mandolin, vocals, fretless bass, and percussion. Probably some other stuff I forgot about too. It is 12 equal – but I hope you enjoy it nonetheless.

A miner poses near the edge of the pit. The pit is more than three miles (5 km) long, two miles (3 km) wide and 535 feet (163 m) deep.

just another monday

feel indifference spreading
i feel it everyday
feel it in the sunshine
more so in the rain

humanity is null
just a past trait
falling into oblivion
at this current rate

just another monday
nothing ever changes
not enough good go’in round
our history has limited pages

i think about all the waste
of life and resources
making our planet swiss cheese
without any recourses

where is the love
what have we turned into?
now a helping hand
just might kill you

we think too much of ourselves
we let earth’s creatures die
what have we become?
why have we allowed it?

raping the earths resources
putting nothing back
making a big garbage heap
but we don’t give a frack

nature cries before us
through the oil and haze
we don’t give anything back
we continue on a robbing craze

i could plead to you
but most will not hear
we only live in the now
and no future is what i fear

it’s just another monday
just like any other day
cause nothing ever changes
and in the end we will pay

time’s running short my friends
we can see the changes come
whether it’s natural or not
we sure helped it some

why does selfishness and greed
dominate so much in our lives
not caring about where we live
not caring about future lives

just another tuesday
just another wednesday
just another thursday
just another friday
just another saturday
just another sunday
just another monday

The Broken Cathedral of Christchurch

Monday, May 13th, 2013

The Broken Cathedral of Christchurch is an ambient poly-tuning piece using 11, 12, and 19 notes to the octave. The instruments used are a Korg MS2000 synthesizer, 19 edo electric guitar (several tracks), and 5 string bass – all with liberal application of effects, mixing, and mastering. The piece is dedicated to the Anglican cathedral of Christchurch New Zealand which will be brought down and rebuilt due to extensive earthquake damage.

This is a repost because the original post was damaged.

DIY Electric (franken) Cello

Tuesday, April 2nd, 2013

I received an unused electric bass and purchased an ebony cello fingerboard and cello bridge from Amazon. After removing the fretboard I cut down the fingerboard to the desired length and glued it in place. I created a nut by taking a 1/4″ long section from what I cut off the fingerboard and glued it to a 1/4″ x 1/4″ square dowel and filed string guides to a comfortable depth. I cut down the cello bridge and also cut shallow guides into it. The pickup was raised as far as it could go. I finger pick and bow the instrument for the sound track in the video. I still have to work out a “foot” and probably cut away more wood after mounting the electric controls below the bridge. I also have to learn how to play it with more dexterity – what you hear is proof-of-concept.
